What this item is for

An equipment base: Auric Shields. Its quality and bonuses depend on the version you find.

  • Can have up to 4 sockets. A runeword needs exactly the right number of sockets in a non-magic base.
  • Socket limits by item level: 3 at levels 1–25, 4 at 26–40, and 4 at 41+. Item level depends on where it dropped; it is not the required character level.
  • The list below checks the base type and maximum sockets. Check the sockets on your actual item and the runeword’s game-mode requirements before using runes.
  • Base requirements: 148 strength and 0 dexterity. Bonuses and ethereal status can change the requirements.
  • Paladin only.
  • Base defense: 182–225.
